CPNI will do a follow up visit to Scotland Neck.

Since the 2018 workshop, they have turned the large empty lot downtown into an event space, where they have had a Christmas tree lighting and a spring beer festival; formed a non-profit that purchased the Scotland Neck Bank and is working on a use for the building; taken possession, by gift and condemnation, of some dilapidated houses along the 9th Street corridor between the bank and the old textile mill (the dog training facility) where they hope to build affordable housing for anticipated new workers in town using USDA grants, because; Airboss is doubling in size from 42 to 84 employees; celebrated the completion of Toad Hall at the Sylvan Bird Park, an indoor/outdoor event pavilion named for the man (yes, his nickname was Toad) who donated the land to the park; started a small community newspaper called the Scotland Neck Gazette, staffed entirely by volunteers and paid for with advertising; and hired a new Town Administrator

The CPNI team will return to discuss plans for the bank and the housing development, among other things.
